About.
Hi, my name is Bangjun and if you are not familiar with Mandarin, just call me Samuel, which is also given by my parents. Currently I am a senior undergraduate at SJTU. If you are just trying to find my academic homepage, please visit: https://www.bangjunwang.com
Alright, now, welcome to my personal cyber studio! This is where I host all sorts of content that I create. It was built from scratch with pure Next.js all by myself. In today's world of social media, building a personal website or blogging might seem old-fashioned and a bit crazy—especially when you factor in the time and costs. But let me share why I decided to do it anyway:
1. Social and Cultural
Social media has made us all impatient, with people now used to getting quick, flashy updates. But I still need a place to organize my thoughts and share them with those who are truly interested in what I have to say. Maybe my ideas will help you, or at least offer a sense of connection. Plus, having a studio like this allows me to gather all kinds of content in one place—no need to jump between platforms. I think every content creator should have their own little studio to share with their audience!
2. Personal
Each year, I choose a new challenge to tackle. This year, my goal is to learn how to build a modern full-stack website from scratch. Building a solo website is a lot of work, and honestly, between my PhD applications and research, I haven't had enough time to complete it just yet. But Room#1: Library is up and running! I'm going to write some articles soon to share the technologies behind it, so stay tuned!
3. Design and Art
I'm a big fan of art and design, and during the creation of this website, I started diving into graphic design. For example, the hero section of the Library follows Swiss International Style design principles, using a grid system to keep the layout clean and visually appealing. As I keep learning, I'm excited to have a personal space to showcase my work.
Anyway, here is the studio and hope you like it!
